A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about our new and updated evaluation case studies, the purpose of which is to illustrate how researchers have gone about evaluating a range of policies. In doing this, we hope that some of the ideas from existing studies can be applied to the evaluation of new policies and programmes.

Our first set of case studies covered innovation programmes. In the last couple of weeks we’ve launched new evaluation case studies on the following three policy areas:

Access to Finance

Mexico microcredit programme (randomised control trial)

Partial credit guarantee program in Italy (statistical approach)

Japan’s Emergency Credit Guarantee (statistical approach)

Transport

British road construction schemes (statistical approach)

Estate renewal

Post-war slum clearance in the United States (statistical approach)

New Deal for Communities in England (statistical approach)

In the coming weeks we’ll add further case studies on employment training, business advice and sports & culture. Watch this space.
