Improving access to broadband: what does the evidence say?

This high-level roundtable will discuss the emerging findings from the fourth evidence review being undertaken by the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth, which looks at the impact of programmes to improve broadband provision in an area. It will examine questions like whether the government subsidising broadband in rural areas, or making internet access easier for excluded groups, leads to increased prosperity? This roundtable for senior practitioners, policy-makers and businesses will be an opportunity to discuss some of the key findings from the review and the implications for local and national policy makers in the UK.

The event will be followed by a workshop on how use and produce evidence to inform policy, led by John Holden, Director of Economic Strategy at New Economy Manchester. For more details and to register, visit the eventbrite page or contact Simon Jeffrey.
