What Works Growth Workshop - Nottingham

The What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth and New Economy Manchester are organising workshops with partner local authorities, LEPs and Combined Authorities to support local economic policy practitioners.

These workshops combine the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth’s findings into effective policy from our evidence reviews and insights into how to design and use effective evaluation together with the experience that Greater Manchester has gained over 20 years of building evaluation into the policymaking process. The workshop will be led by New Economy, and will examine the opportunities and challenges faced by local authorities in using and developing evidence to inform local economic policy, and running through New Economy’s Green Book-approved cost benefit analyses and how these methods can be used in other places.

Now into their third year, authorities of all sizes have found the tools and methods explained in these workshops helpful in improving the development of their policy, bid writing and evaluation work.
